1940-50s Ohio Art, Red Plaid 11-pc Child’s Tin Tea Set (Z0822)
This is a rare, 11-pc child’s Tin Tea Set by Ohio Art, known as “Red Plaid” which features a blond girl with her blue chintz puppy within a red plaid background. This was probably designed by Elaine Ends Hileman. The set includes the following:
1 Tray 10in H, 8in W 2 Teapot-Pitcher 3in H, 3in W 4 Cups 1.25in H, 2.5in W 4 Dinner Plates 4.25in in diameter
It is in played with condition. Tray is faded, pitcher no handle, cups dirty, plates rusty,etc. This tin tea set has the normal age wear such as scratches, dents, discoloration, fading, surface rust, etc. common to this type of tea sets. The cups are marked: Ohio Art, with a symbol that was used during 1945-1950s. The 1998 Ohio Art Collectors Guide shows a 4-pc place setting with large pitcher on page 104, valued of $225.00.
