This include a history about the 1983 Olympic Dollar with Certificate of Authenticity. The coin is in mint condition as shown in Photos.
The 1983 Olympic Silver Dollar was issued to commemorate the 1984 Loa Angeles Summer Olympic Games, also known as the LosAngeles XXIII Olympiad. The obverse shows a representaion of a traditional Greek discus thrower, inspired by the ancient work of the sculptor Myron. The reverse depicts the head and upper body of an American eagle. Like all modern commemoratives, the Olympic Silver Dollar was intended for investors and collectors and was not intended for circulation. It was sold by the mint at a price higher than face vale, half of the surcharged was turned over to the US Olympic Committee to support Amricas Olympic athletes nd athletic program. The Committee eventually received $73.4 million from the sale of the 1983 and 1984 Olympic Commemorative coins.
